Apply for Halal Certification through MYeHALAL: Step by Step
From the applicant account to the decision of the Panel Pensijilan Halal (Halal Certification Panel).
Last reviewed 5 November 2026
Only once the restaurant genuinely meets the basic requirements and has the records needed should you go into MYeHALAL to make the official application.
Step 1 — Register or log in to your account
Use valid business details. Make sure the company name, registration number, operating address and contact person are consistent with your supporting documents.
Step 2 — Choose the right scheme
For a single restaurant or café outlet, choose Premis Makanan (Food Premises) → Restoran/Kafe (Restaurant/Café) (the actual field names may change with the version of the interface). Do not pick food product certification or the chain scheme by mistake.
Step 3 — Enter your operating data
Fill in the details of the premises, the operator, the full menu, raw materials/ingredients, manufacturers and suppliers. Make sure the menu shown to customers matches the list in the application.
Step 4 — Submit supporting documents
Upload the documents the system currently asks for, including licences, training certificates, worker records, evidence for raw materials and the relevant halal management documents.
Step 5 — Review, fees and audit
The authority will check that the application is complete. The RM20 processing fee is separate from the certification fee of RM100 a year for a restaurant/café. Follow the payment notice issued; do not pay unofficial parties.
The audit may involve a document review and an on-site inspection. The auditor may choose one dish, then ask for evidence for the ingredients in it.
Step 6 — Corrective action and decision
If there is an NCR (Non-Conformance Report), read the details, fix the root cause of the problem and submit evidence within the period given. The final decision is made according to the authority's process and the Panel Pensijilan Halal Malaysia (Malaysia Halal Certification Panel).
Remember: private websites or consultants cannot promise a halal certificate automatically. A complete application also does not mean automatic approval.
