Applying for a Food Product SPHM (Malaysia Halal Certificate) through MYeHALAL: Step by Step
Information and documents for the application, assessment, audit, NCRs and the certification decision.
Last reviewed 5 November 2026
Once the basic requirements are met and at least three months of operations and records are available, you can start the application through the official MYeHALAL system. For packaged products, the product, manufacturer, ingredient and brand information needs to be consistent with the labels and the actual records.
Before you open the form
Prepare the following documents in a tidy folder: company registration, PBT (local authority) licence/approval, KKM (Ministry of Health) food premises certification, the SKU list and product names, recipes/formulations, a flow chart for each process flow, labels/artwork, the premises plan, the ingredient-supplier list and halal evidence, operational records, the IHCS or HAS documents, and staff and training records. Add OEM certificates and contracts if any process is handed over to another factory.
Application flow
What might the auditor check?
- Pick one SKU from the shelf and ask for its recipe and manufacturer.
- Pick one ingredient from the recipe and check its halal verification, purchase and lot number.
- Follow one production batch until the product is delivered.
- Compare the physical label, product name and details in MYeHALAL.
- Check hygiene, staff flow, storage, insect control, training and vaccinations.
- Ask who can approve a new ingredient or hold a doubtful product.
If the auditor issues a non-conformance report (NCR), record the issue, cause, corrective action, evidence and person responsible. Do not assume every NCR is given a 30-day period; follow the dates and action categories stated by the authority.
Your action: run a mock audit with a manager playing the auditor and staff practising finding documents. Do not sign declarations or claim approval before the panel decides.
